Video shows Maduro’s arrival in the United States and his incarceration

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were detained in a New York detention center after his capture during US strikes on Caracas.

Footage shows a handcuffed Maduro exiting a plane after landing at Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York state on Saturday evening.

He was then taken to the offices of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The White House shared a video of him in the office on social media, with the caption: “Perp was walking.”

He was then taken in a helicopter from a New York heliport, which would have transported him and Flores to the Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal facility in Brooklyn where they are being held.
