Deep Space Nine Star Nana Visitors Reunion Pitch Would Bring Back Sisko

One of the interesting aspects of “Star Trek” is its desire, as a franchise, to lets his heroes grow old and even return to their stories decades after the fact. “Star Trek: The Original Series” had its run of films that followed the crew of the original USS Enterprise into its final years, and “Star Trek: The Next Generation” saw something of a revival with season 3 of “Star Trek: Picard,” which followed old Admiral Picard (Patrick Stewart) long after he stopped leading Starfleet’s first ship. That means there’s always a chance we could see other beloved characters return for their own second shot, including on shows like “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” or “Star Trek: Voyager.” (Except for Seven of Nine, of course, which was on “Picard.”)

Even if “Deep Space Nine” experienced a sort of mini-reviving with an episode of the cartoon “Star Trek: Lower Decks” Featuring the voices of Nana Visitor as Major Kira and Armin Shimerman as Quark, Visitor has its own ideas about the potential path forward for a “Deep Space Nine” series despite Captain Sisko (Avery Brooks) being cast out by the Prophets to live in the white void of the wormhole at the end of the series. In an interview with ScreenRantVisitor revealed that she had a dream about bringing Sisko back (a dream that would involve Kira and Cirroc Lofton as Sisko’s son Jake communicating with Sisko using the Bajoran orbs), and it would absolutely work as a way to advance the story of “Deep Space Nine.”

At the end of “Deep Space Nine,” Sisko was called upon to take his place as Emissary of the Prophets, which meant he was taken out of linear time. Having a “Deep Space Nine” revival without its captain could be daunting, but Visitor has a really good idea on how to make it work, saying:

“Well, something I’ve always seen is that I’m always at the station, and Cirroc [Lofton] is there, and I’ll dream even further that Avery’s voice comes out of an orb, and we can both access it. This seems like a really interesting idea. I mean, it’s a space station. It’s simply a wonderful and useful way to bring people and different species together. »

Having Sisko speak to Kira and Jake through one of the many Bajoran orbs would be a great way to include him without taking him out of the wormhole, which would be a challenge since Brooks has aged and Sisko wouldn’t have done it. We know that Kira is still on Deep Space Nine and runs things because of the episode “Lower Decks”, and Lofton has previously said he’s open to returning as Jakeso it’s pretty perfect.

The finale of “Deep Space Nine” is excellent, but it leaves quite a few things open, and a reprise or reunion would provide some much-needed closure. Even if we won’t be able to have much information on Odo (René Auberjonois) or Nog (Aron Eisenberg) since The Actors Who Played These ‘Deep Space Nine’ Characters Have Sadly Passed Awayquite a few of the original Deep Space Nine crew are still around and would probably be up for some more boardwalk shenanigans. Not only that, but the “Deep Space Nine” writers even pitched their dream reunion episode for the “What We Left Behind” documentary, and it looks like they have quite a few ideas about where the crew of everyone’s favorite Cardassian-designed space station ended up.

While the episode “Lower Decks” clarified some questionsas whether or not Morn was still Quark’s main client, there was a lot left untouched that could be mined for stories about the crew 30 or so years later. Jake, in particular, had a lot of loose ends to tie up. This includes the birth of his younger brother, given that Sisko’s wife, Kasidy Yates (Penny Johnson Jerald), was pregnant with his baby when he was summoned by the prophets. Allowing Jake to step in and be a central protagonist in place of his father could be really satisfying, and honestly? “Deep Space Nine” fans would be happy to see one of the old gang again.
