Celtic are now looking for their third manager of the season.
Celtic sacked manager Wilfried Nancy after their Old Firm derby defeat to Rangers.
The club also confirmed that head of football operations Paul Tisdale has left his position.
Nancy leaves after just 33 days and eight games in charge and leaves with the club six points behind Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
A statement read: “Celtic Football Club announces today that it has decided to terminate the contract of manager Wilfried Nancy, with immediate effect.
“The Club thanks Wilfried for his efforts and wishes him and his family good luck for the future.
“Wilfried’s deputies, Kwame Ampadu, Jules Gueguen and Maxime Chalier, will also leave the club and they take with them our best wishes.
“The Club can also confirm that Paul Tisdale has left his role as Head of Football Operations. We thank Paul for the contribution he has made in this role.
“A further update will be provided to supporters as soon as possible.”
Nancy was appointed last month following the successful interim tenure of Martin O’Neill following the departure of Brendan Rodgers.
O’Neill had won seven of his eight games in charge after taking over on a temporary basis following an away defeat to Hearts which left them eight points behind the Tynecastle club.
Celtic erased that deficit under O’Neill, leaving Nancy, an MLS Cup winner during his previous coaching stint at the Columbus Crew, a platform with which to lead the Bhoys to the title.

Yet he suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Hearts in his first game in charge, which was followed by a Europa League defeat to Roma, humiliation at the hands of St. Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final and another league reverse to Dundee United at Tannadice.
Successive league victories over Livingston and Aberdeen appeared to have steadied the ship but, with a 2-0 defeat to in-form Motherwell followed by a collapse against arch rivals Rangers, the Celtic hierarchy opted to end his brief tenure.
Celtic let a 1-0 lead slip as a resurgent Rangers battled back to win 3-1 at Celtic Park, sparking protests against the board after the match.
A member of that board is now gone, with Tisdale’s departure being instrumental in the decision to appoint Nancy. Tisdale had held his position since October 2024.
Celtic will now begin their search for a third permanent manager for the season, with the club in desperate need of a turnaround in fortunes.
Their struggles under Nancy saw Hearts become favorites to become the first team from outside the Old Firm to win the title since Aberdeen in 1985.
Celtic are also just two points ahead of Motherwell in fourth and just four ahead of Hibernian. They host Dundee United on Saturday.
They are 24th in the Europa League table with seven points from six games and will face Bologna and Utretch in their final two matches as they look to progress to the last 16, with those crucial matches taking place either side of another potentially crucial meeting with Hearts.
