In the hours since Amorim’s surprising departure from United, the Red Devils have seen countless names come into play, including the Crystal Palace boss. Olivier Glasner.
The Austrian has consistently expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of funding at Selhurst Park in recent months, while even rejecting any progress on his current deal.
His contract in London is set to expire at the end of the campaign, which could make him a cheap but effective option for the Red Devils hierarchy in the coming weeks.

Why Nagelsmann would be a better option than Glasner
Over the past two years, Glasner has made a name for himself in England’s top flight, given the success he enjoyed while in charge of Crystal Palace.
He led the Eagles to their first ever major trophy at the end of last campaign, going on to beat Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley in the FA Cup final.
The Austrian has since confirmed his success with the Community Shield in August, while also leading the club into their first ever European adventure in 2025/26.
His current contract situation has certainly made him an even more viable option for INEOS, but they must desperately pass up this opportunity and pursue Nagelsmann.
Despite being only 38 years old, the German has already amassed an impressive CV, leading his country while also being the coach of Bayern Munich for 18 months.
He won the Bundesliga title in the 2021/22 campaign, while achieving a winning percentage of 71% and a record 2.3 points per game in the German top flight.
Nagelsmann has also won two Super Cup titles during his coaching career, firmly confirming that he is the “best young coach in Europe” as journalist Josh Bunting said.

It’s unclear how willing he would be to take the reins at Old Trafford, but it’s safe to say he’s already won more trophies and more success than Glasner, despite being 13 years younger.
Nagelsmann, who was nicknamed “phenomenal” by one analyst, has the experience of winning trophies, something which United have greatly lacked in recent seasons.
Very few managers are capable of achieving a win rate like the German, with Glasner only able to achieve a 45% win percentage during his almost two-year stay at Selhurst Park.
The German also possesses the ability to develop and mold his career around any move to Manchester, potentially capable of succeeding in this role for many years to come.
His top-level experience is expected to be crucial in their quest to sign him in the coming months, with the youngster expected to be the club’s number one target to replace Amorim.
