PDC Qualification School: Arno Merk and Aaron Monk take the first step towards obtaining Tour Cards | Darts News

Arno Merk, Arron Monk and Jamie Hughes were among the first 32 players to progress into the opening phase of PDC Q-School 2026 on Monday.

The first day of the British and European Qualifying Schools kicked off simultaneously in Milton Keynes and Kalkar, Germany, marking the start of a week of action in which more than 900 players fight for their place on the PDC Tour for the next two years.

The first stage, which runs until January 7, sees players from around the world attempt to qualify for the final stage, where Tour Cards will be awarded from January 8-11.

PDC Europe Super League winners Merk, fresh from his run to the third round of the World Championships at Alexandra Palace, impressed from the start, winning four matches in a row to book his place in the final stage.

Former junior world champion Monk has also progressed, notably beating three-time world champion John Part, while former European Tour title winner Hughes is also progressing.
