‘Dana’s Probably Furious’ – Fans React to Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s Renewed Rivalry in an Unexpected Setting


Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are set to cross paths again after being named opposing coaches on Russian reality series ALF MMA. The announcement immediately brought back memories of one of the UFC’s most bitter eras.

Jones and Cormier fought twice during their careers. Jones won the first encounter by decision and finished the rematch with a head kick knockout, only for that result to be overturned to a no contest following a failed drug test.

A potentially AI-generated image of them clashing recently surfaced on social media, and fans reacted to it with opposing views. A fan wrote:

The ALF series has previously featured characters like Khamzat ChimaevPetr Yan, Aljamain Sterling and Nate Diaz. The Stockton native left the show after a violent on-set fight. Jones, meanwhile, returns to the series for his second stint.

Daniel Cormier eyes wrestling showdown with Jon Jones

Daniel Cormier believes his rivalry with Jon Jones has yet to be settled and wants a wrestling showdown against his main rival.

Cormier says he expects the match to take place under the Real American Freestyle banner, a league built around elite-level grappling. While Jones holds victories over Cormier in MMA, the Olympic wrestler considers wrestling his domain.

During a recent conversation with Ben AskrenCormier said:

“I’m telling you, Real American Freestyle is going to see me and Jon Jones at some point, and I’m going to kick his ass like you’d never believe… Because guess what, I’m still shooting. I’m still training wrestlers every day.”

Cormier retired from the UFC in August 2020 after his third fight against Stipe Miocic at UFC 252. Meanwhile, Jones retired after defending the heavyweight title against Miocic last year. However, he is actively campaigning for a spot on the White House UFC card and wants to return to action.
