Chelsea has officially confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as new head coach, granting the 41-year-old a remarkable contract which runs until June 2032.
The six-and-a-half year deal shows the club’s firm belief in Rosenior’s vision and willingness to commit to a long-term project following a period of managerial upheaval at Stamford Bridge.
This appointment follows the departure of Enzo Maresca.a move that left Chelsea searching for stability and clarity after another turbulent chapter.
By moving decisively for Rosenior and backing him with one of the longest contracts in modern Premier League history, Chelsea’s owners have made it clear that they view him not as a short-term solution, but as a coach capable of becoming one of the elite managers in world football.
Speaking after his appointment, Rosenior outlined his ambitions and emotional connection to the role, insisting he will focus on building an identity his supporters can believe in.
Rosenior said: “There is a real hunger to win, and I will give everything, every day, to help this team compete and win at the highest level so that everyone is connected and proud to be part of Chelsea Football Club.
“I want our fans to be proud of who we are and what we represent in every game we play. They are the soul of this huge, historic, huge football club. I can’t wait to meet you all. I can’t wait to get started.”
He then reinforced that message by emphasizing the importance of protecting Chelsea’s traditions while fostering success on the pitch:
“My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects those values in every game we play while continuing to win trophies.”

Rosenior also recognized the magnitude of the opportunity presented to him, adding:
“Being entrusted with this role means everything to me and I would like to thank everyone involved for the opportunity and the confidence in undertaking this work. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves.”
Despite his relative inexperience at the highest level, Rosenior arrives with growing credibility after impressing in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg.
His record at the French club Strasbourg:
| Team | Tenure | G | W | D | L | Earn % |
| RC Strasbourg Alsace | July 25, 2024 – January 6, 2026 | 63 | 32 | 14 | 17 | 50.80% |
Chelsea are not simply betting on potential, but are committed to patience, continuity and a clear footballing identity.
Now, with the support of the board and the trust of fans up for grabs, Rosenior faces the biggest challenge of his career.
