Greenland’s leaders have repeatedly rejected Trump’s comments that the US is aiming for a power grab. But Trump reiterated his calls to take European possession in a manner interview in The Atlantic published this weekend.

“We absolutely need Greenland,” Trump told the magazine.

Mujtaba Rahman, managing director for Europe at consultancy Eurasia Group, said the Danish government was “full crisis mode” following Trump’s latest comments.
