These luxurious headphones are almost half price

Looking for a steal a deal on a luxurious pair of over-ear headphones? THE Bowers & Wilkins Px8 are heavily marked down on Amazon in a variety of stylish finishes. They sport premium materials, improved sound, and surprisingly adept ANC, all for under $500, depending on how strict you are about color. They’re a great choice if you have a keen ear and want to take something with you on your next long flight.

The big star here is the listening experience, powered by a pair of 40mm carbon cone drivers originally designed for the 700 Series speakers. The Px8s have an incredible sound profile that our critic Simon Lucas called “an exciting, informative and engaging listen without being ostentatious” and particularly complimented the low frequencies for their excellent definition. They have awesome texture and substance, something you probably won’t find in other headphones in this discounted price range.

While we’re not one of the big names in noise cancellation, we were impressed with the implementation of flight noise and regular noise, although he noted that the settings are limited to on, off, or toggle. The companion Bowers & Wilkins app has a decent set of options for some EQ adjustments and other settings, and if you want, you can connect your streaming service of choice for in-app listening. They also have decent battery life, with up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge and fast charging for seven hours of music after just 15 minutes.

Price and availability vary by color, and I spotted the beige version at the lowest price of just under $420 at publication.
