Mickey Rourke’s manager insists he knew about GoFundMe

Actor Mickey Rourke has been a cause for concern in recent days. Reports recently surfaced revealing that the actor had received notice to pay nearly $60,000 in back rent or be moved from his Los Angeles home.

After the report, a GoFundMe fundraiser was set up in Mickey Rourke’s name, which he has since called “embarrassing.” However, his manager recently released a statement confirming that she, along with the rest of Rourke’s team, created the fundraiser and informed him of the decision before condemning it online.

According to PEOPLERourke received a notice to pay $59,100 in back rent for his Los Angeles home on December 29, 2025.

The report states that Rourke’s landlord, Eric Goldie, handed the documents to the actor, asking him to pay within three days or vacate the property.

The filing says Rourke began leasing the property in March 2025 with a monthly rent of $5,200. Later, the rent was increased to $7,000 per month.

In addition to the $59,100 in back rent, Goldie is seeking reimbursement for attorney fees.

After news of Rourke’s financial woes went viral, a GoFundMe a fundraiser was created in his name. As of this publication, the fundraiser has raised more than $101,000.

“This fundraiser is created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing expenses and prevent this from happening,” the fundraiser description reads. “Mickey Rourke is an icon, but his journey, as painful as it was, is also deeply human. It’s the story of someone who gave everything for his work, took real risks and paid real costs.”

Elsewhere on GoFundMe, the description stated that the goal of the crowdfunding campaign was to help the “Wrestler” actor get back on his feet.

“Any donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. And if you are unable to contribute, sharing this page is a huge help and deeply appreciated. Thank you very much for your kindness, compassion and support,” he concludes.

However, in a new Instagram video covered by The explosionRourke responded to the GoFundMe, explaining that he was “frustrated” and “confused” to learn he was the focus of a fundraising effort.

“It’s not me, okay?” he said. “I’d rather, if I needed money, not ask for any fucking handouts. I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.”

Rourke went on to explain that he had made poor decisions throughout his career, but even then he would “never ask strangers or fans or anyone for a penny,” adding, “That’s not my style.”

“I can only think of one person who would do such a thing, and I hope it’s not her I’m thinking of. It’s humiliating,” he continued.

Talk with The Hollywood ReporterRourke’s manager, Kimberly Hines, said she and other members of the actor’s team were responsible for creating the GoFundMe. Hines also claimed that Rourke knew about the decision before the fundraiser even started.

“We said, ‘Mickey, there are people who want to help you.’ He says, “Okay, great. “I don’t think he understood, and now, in the face of this media frenzy, he lost his temper,” Hines said. “No one’s trying to scam Mickey,” Hines added, “I want him to work. I don’t want him to do a GoFundMe.”
