Influencer Haley Kalil (aka Hayley Baylee) is opening up about her experience with domestic violence – and how her social media presence helped her escape an abusive ex.
“I dealt with, of course, like any girl, a lot of emotional abuse in relationships, cheating, all that. But no, one of my exes was physically abusive,” Kalil, 33, said during the Tuesday, January 6, episode. Amanda Hirsch“Not Skinny but Not Fat”, revealing that she was in an abusive relationship when she posted her first viral TikTok video, a tour of an apartment in New York, in 2022.
“This is what I experienced when visiting the apartment,” she continued, “And this is why, during my first [‘Billionaire Boyfriend’ video]I have a cast on my wrist from, yes, domestic violence. (Visiting Kalil’s apartment inspired her to make a fictional POV series in which she posed as a billionaire’s stay-at-home girlfriend.)
Kalil said she eventually ended up filing domestic violence charges against her ex, who she didn’t name on the podcast.
“And it’s okay. I mean, he didn’t come back into my life. I’m really grateful for that,” she said. “I hope, I honestly hope, and I mean this honestly, that I hope that the success that I had after that, that he sees, because he had a real hatred, I think, for women, just because of his past. [and] that he sees that he should treat women better because we are capable of so much more than he ever thought.
Kalil called the relationship a “difficult time” in her life and said she credits the women in the comments sections of her videos with helping her find the courage to leave her ex.
“I credit them with saving my life. Completely and totally. Because I never felt seen by women,” she said, adding that fans’ kind comments led her to “decenter a man in my life who was doing horrible things to me.”
Video of Haley’s apartment tour took place shortly after her divorce from her ex-husband Matt Kalilwhich was finalized in 2022. However, the social media personality made it clear to fans that she was not referring to Matt, 36, in her videos discussing toxic exes or domestic violence.
“We were married for seven years and he’s still one of my closest friends,” she said during a June 2024 episode of the “Post Run High” podcast. “Love him to death. He has a baby [and I’m] so happy for him. (After his divorce from Haley, Matt married the model Keilani Asmus in 2024. The couple shares a son.)
In November 2025, Haley explained why her marriage to the former NFL player ended: making headlines for the NSFW reason: the size of his manhood.
“[This happened] our whole marriage,” she said during a live stream on Twitch. “I was going to try everything – therapists, doctors [and I] I looked for lipo type shit, you know what I mean? That’s why it’s quite funny. It’s like my life is a comedy, and it writes itself.

Haley continued: “He was 0.01% of the population. We tried everything. [and it was] impossible unless you cry.
The TikToker later clarified that their divorce wasn’t limited to problems in their sex life.
“I care deeply about respecting his privacy and the integrity of what we shared together,” she told TMZ Sports in a statement. “During [my] live broadcast, [I] I talked about so much more than what’s in evidence: the love in our marriage, the growth we’ve experienced, the depth of our connection.
Haley continued: “It’s a shame that just one fragment is amplified because it doesn’t tell the full story of how important things are to me. I hope that [the] an hour and a half conversation reflects much more than a funny phrase.
