WSOP Circuit returns to Choctaw with guaranteed $1 million main event

This year’s World Series of Poker (WSOP) season has officially begun, with the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, offering poker players 18 WSOP Circuit ring events in January.

These will take place from Wednesday, January 7 to Monday, January 19, 2026. The $1,700 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event at Choctaw will have a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000.

The Main Event at the historic host venue will feature two day one flights, with Flight A taking place on Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17, both starting at 11 a.m. local time.

In its location announcement, the WSOP states that the last time the circuit visited Choctaw was in October 2025, when Matthew Higgins won his 9th WSOP Tour ring in the Main Event. It was here that he won $218,436 and his biggest career score in a WSOP related event.

“In addition to the WSOP Circuit Main Event, several favorites among Choctaw Circuit players are on the event schedule,” said the says the company.

“The $500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Gargantuan, which includes an impressive $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, is set to feature two Day One flights on Friday, January 16, starting at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

“Kicking off the series on Wednesday, January 7 at 11 a.m. will be the first flight of the $500 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em, another event offering a guaranteed $100,000 prize pool.”

Winners of the WSOP Circuit ring at this event will receive a $5,000 package to attend the WSOP Circuit Championship, choosing between WSOP Europe 2026 or WSOP Paradise 2026. The former will take place at King’s Casino in Prague, Czech Republicfrom March 31 to April 12, 2026. The Paradise event will take place at the end of the year, on Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Packages of $5,000 for either event will include entry as well as free hotel accommodation.
