Italy says EU-Mercosur deal offers ‘huge benefits’

Italy said on Wednesday that a trade deal between the EU and Mercosur could bring “huge benefits”, despite calling for plans to conclude the deal in December to be postponed. On Friday, the bloc’s member states are expected to vote in favor of the text that will create the world’s largest free trade zone.
