Thomas Frank on ‘stupid’ Arsenal Cup incident

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank was not happy as he was asked if he had drunk any Arsenal branded product before the match against Bournemouth.

It was another difficult night for Spurs who conceded late to lose 3-2 to Bournemouth, and Frank only made himself more unpopular following a pre-match incident.

Frank spoke about the Arsenal Cup incident during his post-match press conference, and insisted he hadn’t done it on purpose, but also criticized the attention paid to this kind of story.

Watch below the Danish tactician was clearly agitated when he said he was “sad” to have to answer questions like this, and that it’s a sign things are going in the wrong direction…

Thomas Frank says he didn’t notice Arsenal Cup

“I didn’t notice it at all,” Frank told reporters.

“I think it would be fair to say that we don’t win every football game, so it would be absolutely, completely stupid of me to win a cup with Arsenal… anyone who thinks I did that or the staff did that…

“I think it’s actually a bit sad in football that I’m being asked a question about this,” he added.

“We are definitely going in the wrong direction if we have to worry about me having a cup with another club’s logo, of course I would never do that, it would be extremely stupid.”

Can Frank last much longer at Tottenham?

Frank’s THFC side are now in 14th place in the Premier League table after a run of just one win in their last six games.

Although he impressed during his time at Brentford, he got off to a very poor start at Spurs and it’s hard to imagine he will be in the role for much longer.

The last thing Frank needed right now was to do with the cup of Tottenham’s biggest rivals.
