During an interview with PEOPLE, Jones, who rose to fame on the Disney Channel before becoming a bona fide R&B star, got engaged to the Cleveland Cavaliers player in July 2025, and as their special day approaches, the “Headline” singer reflects on the gravity of her next chapter.

Jones and Mitchell excited social media users in the summer of 2025 when they shared pictures and videos of their heartwarming engagement. In a recent interview, Jones opened up about the moment, calling it “indescribable” before joking about the “real, everlasting commitment” that comes with marriage.
“I think about my life so much like business, and I’m like, ‘Girl, you need to stop. This is the biggest contract I’ve ever signed.’ Do you know what I’m saying? It’s a real and eternal commitment,” she said. said. “I talk about forever, I sing about forever, and then I’m like, ‘Oh, it really is forever. Okay, word, word.'”

Both Jones and Mitchell have had busy years, with the “Bel Air” actress releasing her debut album and Mitchell dominating his eighth season in the NBA.
