The St. Louis rapper has fans rallying behind her after sharing a deeply personal update that explains where she’s been and why she’s chosen to move silently. While many only recently learned what she was up against, Vette says the journey has been long, emotional and life-changing.
After privately battling cancer, Big Boss Vette revealed that she is officially cancer free and is beginning her healing journey. Just days after ringing the hospital’s victory bell, she took to social media to thank her supporters for their overwhelming love and to explain why she kept her fight out of the public eye. Alongside a powerful photo showing herself hairless during treatment, Vette shared a heartfelt message expressing her gratitude for every post, video and message she received.
“Hey Cousins! First of all, thank you so much for your love and support! I see every post, video and post and it really brings tears to my eyes because of all the love! Please be patient with me…I’m starting this healing journey as I recover well. I have so much to share with you all! Of course you know I documented EVERYTHING! I had to fight privately to get to the other side, but I can’t wait to share and hope to help anyone who might be going through something similar, love you all,” the rapper shared in an Instagram caption.
On Monday, Big Boss Vette officially rang the bell and claimed victory. The St. Louis rapper revealed she was cancer-free after quietly fight against illness for almost a year, a struggle fans didn’t even know she was facing. She shared the powerful moment on social media, posting a video of herself walking down a hospital hallway as medical staff and supporters cheered her on, wearing a pink hat and pink cap. “Fucking cancer” T-shirt. With her viral hit “Pretty Girls Walk” playing in the background, Vette strutted confidently before ringing the hospital’s victory bell, marking a major treatment an important milestone and signaling the start of his journey to recovery.
The rapper explained that although she documented every step of her journey, she made a conscious decision to fight quietly. She shared that healing without outside pressure allowed her to focus on surviving and finishing her treatments. “I had to fight privately to get to the other side.” Vette wrote, adding that she is now ready to slowly open up and share her story in hoping to help others facing similar battles.
