The police were sent to a flight at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Leeds, Alabama, on January 2, where the suspect had a weapon.
The suspect, Kaudija Shondrelle Haynes, 32, threatened to use sledgehammer while in the Chick-fil-A drive-thru as she ordered an employee to give her a bag of currency.
Haynes recklessly fled the scene while putting innocent lives in danger, and officers followed her to the Wind Creek Casino in Wetumpka, where she was likely gambling with the money stolen during her robbery.

She was taken into custody with the assistance of the Wetumpka Police Department and the Poarch Creek Tribal Police Department the same day after crashing her car following collisions with multiple trees.
“We are proud that no employees or customers were injured,” said Chief Paul Irwin.
“This individual endangered employees by fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement in Wetumpka. He put others in danger and may have taken his own life. This shows that addiction causes someone to do anything to gamble or use drugs. Our employees took immediate action once this happened to identify, locate and communicate with other law enforcement officers to bring this individual to justice.
“We are very grateful to the Poarch Creek Tribal Police Department and the Wetumpka Police Department for their response to our requests and the arrest of the accused. Teamwork and cooperation is what keeps communities safe!”
Just this week, Huntsville police arrested man suspected of being involved in an illegal gambling operation in the state.
A SWAT team conducted a search warrant early Tuesday morning, January 6, as part of the ongoing investigation. This follows another case in October, when a 20-year-old man arrested in Fort Payne after authorities searched three commercial sites and discovered 38 illegal slot machines.
