Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi is working to downsize as she begins a new year on reality TV.
“I cut down on the amount of weed I was buying. I would say it’s now less than $3,000 a month,” GG, 44, shared exclusively with Us every week ahead of the series premiere on Thursday, January 8 The Valley: Persian style. “I rely on cannabis for my health. I depend on it for my psychological calm, for many things, and I accept it. It’s a natural substance.”
The old Sunset Shahs The star added that she doesn’t “really” drink alcohol anymore. Instead, she chooses to spend her money on legal weed.
During the first few episodes of Bravo’s new reality show, GG was put in the hot seat about her finances and her need to downsize.
“I know Golnesa wants to bury her head in the sand and pretend the problems aren’t there,” Mercedes “MJ” Javid said in a confessional interview. “But he’s not an adult, sister.”
Before viewers – and costars – came for her lavish lifestyle, GG confirmed she had downsized from six bedrooms to five bedrooms.
“I’m happy,” she said We. “It’s a little difficult. You have to put all the clothes in the rooms and everything. But we’re in a great neighborhood, a great school. My yard is huge, so I have these two huge Rottweilers that can roam everywhere. It’s great.”
After learning her spending was a hot topic of conversation, GG said she did some thinking and realized she needed to make a change.

Shayan Asgharnia/Bravo“I’ll be honest with you. Hearing how much I was spending, when I was saying that out loud — because I had to do the math in my brain to know how much I was spending — I was like, ‘Oh, wow,'” GG said. We. “I can have a whole different mortgage if I want. It was nice to hear that.”
In a unique way, GG — who made her reality TV debut on Sunset Shahs in 2012 – argued that participating in a reality TV show was the best therapy.
“You hear yourself or you look at each other and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ I just didn’t expect my credit and everything else to come up,” she said. “When I hired Reza [Farahan] Being my agent, I didn’t think my credit was going to be a topic of discussion in a friend’s group. They are all my friends.
While The Valley: Persian style promises lots of drama among GG’s group of friends, she’s excited to return to film with some of her closest friends after Sunset Shahs says goodbye in 2021.
“Reza and I became very close. I feel like as soon as the cameras turned off we no longer had an excuse to force our friendship and we became friends naturally,” GG said. “We started traveling and doing so many fun things together.”
Even though GG still has its ups and downs with MJ, the last few years have been a positive change.
“She’s definitely coming out of that shell,” GG teased, “and finding herself and her friendships and all that.”
The Valley: Persian style airs on Bravo Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
