The 51-year-old actorArmchair expertThe podcast host was talking about life at home with his wife Kristen Bell and their two daughters, Delta and Lincoln, when the conversation turned surprisingly serious.
According to Shepard, her youngest child already has a clear vision for his future, centered around becoming a parent. He recalled, according to Daily Mail“Delty said she couldn’t wait to have a baby.”
This comment did not seem to him to be a passing childhood thought. Instead, Shepard suggested it reflected Delta’s caring personality, something the family sees daily. He painted a vivid picture of their household, explaining, “For people who don’t know, our life is a traveling circus of Delty’s stuffed animals. Most of our baggage as a family is his stuffed animals.”

For him, constantly tending to toys was like a glimpse of instincts already taking shape.

When Delta first brought up the topic, Shepard said he was conscious of how he responded. Rather than shutting down the idea or pushing it away, he wanted to keep the conversation open and non-judgmental. He explained his thought process, sharing, “She says she wants to have a baby, and I said, ‘When do you think you’ll have your first child? When you’re 18?’ I want to support anything. »
The doting father added: “I don’t want to sow any seeds that might be judgmental or anything.”
This approach allowed her daughter to think more broadly about her future, including the possibility of waiting until later in life.

As the discussion evolved, Shepard said Delta wasn’t planning to become a mother as soon as he had jokingly suggested. Instead, she tended to have children much later, in her 30s and 40s.
This realization prompted Shepard to propose an option that he believed could relieve future pressure. He revealed: “I said, ‘If you want, we’ll freeze your eggs when you turn 18. I’ll pay for you to have your eggs frozen so you don’t have to think about it.’
The idea, he explained, was rooted in flexibility rather than expectations.

Shepard was quick to acknowledge the realities surrounding such a decision.
He told listeners: “Recognizing luck and privilege, this is obviously not an option for most people. But I think given where this is, the trajectory that it would make the most sense. »
He added: “I think they’re going to struggle with the same thing that every woman does. You’re going to want to make your career.”
Despite the logic, Delta was not impressed with the proposed schedule. Shepard laughed as he admitted, “Again, she’s 11, so that probably seems like 80. She thinks she’s about 25.”
The exchange highlighted how even serious conversations remain grounded in humor, honesty and mutual respect.
Shepard’s confession about her daughter came days after Cher created a viral moment during her appearance on her podcast. During her appearance, the legendary actress addressed Shepard’s marriage to Bell with unapologetic honesty.
As Shepard reflected on how her past trauma influences her communication style, Cher interrupted the introspection with a blunt assessment that immediately changed the tone of the conversation. Looking directly at him, she said“You’re lucky. She’s definitely the better half,” leaving no doubt where her admiration lay.
The commentary was harsher because of Cher’s longtime friendship with Bell, with whom she starred in the 2010 film “Burlesque.”

Rather than bristle, Shepard finally leaned into the moment, openly acknowledging the implication behind the remark. He asked her, “Who would be your dream partner for her? Because I know you think she could do better, and I don’t disagree.” However, Cher didn’t propose an alternative match, although her final retort delivered a perfectly measured blend of humor and judgment.
With calm confidence, she replied, “The truth is, I trust him. So you must have something I can’t see.”
The exchange struck a balance between playful roasting and genuine respect, transforming a casual podcast conversation into one of the most talked about celebrity moments of the week.
