An insider told the Daily Mail that the family has reached its limits by saying: “[Nick] did it himself, he can assume the consequences himself.

The family’s decision came to light after attorney Alan Jackson officially withdrew from his representation of Nick Reiner during a recent court hearing.
Jackson cited “circumstances beyond” his and Nick’s control, but stressed that he still believed his former client was not guilty.
With Jackson’s departure, Nick’s case will now be handled by the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office.
The veteran lawyer, whose resume includes Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and Karen Read, did not provide further details about his departure.
Family sources say Jackson was arrested quickly after Nick’s arrest, at the recommendation of Reiner’s family’s lawyers.
However, with the siblings no longer willing to shoulder the mounting legal costs, continuing to use a private attorney was no longer an option.

Sources say the siblings felt immense pain over their decision, as turning away from a loved one goes against everything the Reiners stand for.
“It’s not like the Reiners or their loved ones to turn their backs on a family member or loved one. But this is different,” explained a source.
Another source put the reaction within the family in harsh terms, noting: “He is accused of kidnapping their parents, should he now take their inheritance so he can free himself from the consequences? That’s everyone’s reaction.”
“It’s incomprehensible. The disgust over Nick’s alleged vile act is felt by everyone, and the desire to spend millions on his defense just isn’t there,” the source added.
