A cellphone video taken by Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who shot Renee Good, was published Friday on X by a right-wing media outlet in Minnesota. The footage shows Ross exiting a vehicle and Good trying to speak with the ICE agent as he circles his Honda Pilot.
The first words Good says in the newly released video are difficult to decipher, with sirens blaring nearby. It sounds like Good might say something like “come talk to me”, before he can more clearly hear him say “it’s okay, man, I’m not mad at you”. Speaking through an open window, she appears to repeat a version of “I’m not mad at you” as he walks away from the window.
Ross doesn’t seem to say anything as he walks around the car beyond a grunt of some sort. Someone off camera can be heard saying “show your face” to Ross, whose face is hidden. Ross then points his camera at Renee Good’s wife, Rebecca Good, who also appears to be filming the exchange and is outside the family vehicle. It’s unclear if Rebecca Good was the one who said “show your face.”
“It’s okay, we don’t change our plates every morning, just so you know. It will be the same plate when you come and talk to us later,” Rebecca Good can be heard saying. ICE swapped license plates on various vehicles as federal agents stormed the country under President Donald Trump.
“That’s great. American citizen, former fucking veteran. Disabled veteran. You want to come to us? You want to come to us? I say go get yourself some lunch, big guy. Go ahead,” Rebecca Good said.
Another officer enters the scene and says, “Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the fucking car. Get out of the car,” in rapid succession.
Rebecca Good is seen reaching the passenger side door and her wife doesn’t seem to notice that she wants to enter. Renee Good can be seen reversing before moving the car forward. Ross shouts something indecipherable, and the camera view lifts as gunshots are heard. Ross does not appear to have dropped his phone despite drawing his gun and firing several shots.

Someone off camera can be heard saying “fucking slut” after shots, although it’s unclear if it’s Ross. The video stops at this point, although it is unclear whether this is actually the end of the recorded sequence or whether it was edited to end abruptly. Bystander video shows Ross walking away from the wrecked car while glancing at his phone.
The video clearly shows Good turning the steering wheel to his right before driving away from the ICE agent. This contradicts statements from the Department of Homeland Security and Vice President JD Vance, who attempted to say that Good intended to hit Ross with his car.
Rebecca Good released a statement to the media on Friday speaking about her late wife. She had previously blamed himselfsaying, “I made her come here. It’s my fault,” in a video originally shared by a passerby who lived nearby.
“You might think it was just my love talking, but her family said the same thing. Renee was made of sunshine,” Rebecca Good said in a statement to Washington Post. “Renée was a Christian who knew that all religions teach the same essential truth: we are here to love each other, care for each other, and keep each other safe and whole. »
Right-wingers have latched onto the recently released video as “proof” that the ICE agent was justified in killing Good, although nothing in the footage suggests she was trying to hit the federal officer. The video was cited and tweeted by DHS Vice President Vance and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shortly after it was posted on
