Matt Kalil sues Haley Kalil for invasion of privacy

Although Matt initially remained silent amid his ex’s viral live message, he later filed a lawsuit against Haley on Tuesday, January 6.

Matt claimed in his filing that Haley’s words “implied that the size of [Matt’s] genitals were a primary factor in the parties’ divorce and claimed that sexual intercourse…would leave her ‘in tears,'” according to court documents obtained by Us every week. As a result, he was allegedly forced to “endure the continued public dissemination of these degrading and deeply personal statements.”

Matt also claimed that Haley was able to “benefit financially from this increase in traffic.” He sought damages “for all causes alleged in the complaint,” with the total amount “exceeding $75,000,” according to the outlet.

Haley responded to the lawsuit in a statement to We.

“I am truly shocked and incredibly hurt to hear the news of this filing. Litigation is a heartbreaking and emotionally draining experience, and I am heartbroken that he chooses to put us and our families through this ordeal,” the statement said, adding that Haley also complimented Matt several times during the live stream, including a moment where she called him the “best guy in the world.”

Haley Kalil plans to dismiss Matt Kalil’s lawsuit

Haley’s lawyer Matthew Bialick said the influencer plans to move to dismiss Matt’s lawsuit in a statement to People on January 7, 2026, claiming that “the case is legally unsupported.”

“These complaints seek to significantly expand existing law and set a harmful new precedent by imposing liability on a woman who simply speaks openly and honestly about a prior relationship,” Bialick told the outlet. “This raises serious First Amendment concerns, particularly in a case involving two public figures.”

Matt’s lawyer Ryan Saba argued in a statement to We that Haley “disclosed private and intimate details about Matt Kalil that represented no legitimate public concern and subjected Matt Kalil and his family to widespread ridicule and unwanted attention.”

“[Haley] Kalil shared these sensitive personal details about her ex-husband in an apparent quest for fortune and fame,” the statement continued. “Her actions were extreme, outrageous, beyond all possible bounds of decency, and caused substantial harm to Matt Kalil, his family and his business.”

In a separate statement to WeAdded Haley’s attorney: “The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Kalil claimed that sexual intercourse with Mr. Kalil would leave her ‘in tears.’ Allowing this allegation to form the basis of a lawsuit would mean a woman could be prosecuted simply for truthfully describing physical pain during sex, which is inconsistent with the First Amendment.
