Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided his latest insight on Enzo Maresca, with the former Chelsea manager linked to Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Italian tactician recently left Chelsea and Romano has once again stated that he is being considered as an option by Man City once Pep Guardiola leaves the club.
However, Romano, speaking on his YouTube channelalso clarified that Guardiola has not yet made any decision on his future.
It is therefore difficult to know if or when Maresca could end up at the Etihad Stadiumwhile it seems that the links with Man Utd are not something concrete.

Discussing some reports coming out of Italy involving Maresca, Romano said: “Despite all the questions I get about Enzo Maresca and Manchester United, he has been linked in Italy with a potential role at Manchester United.
“At the moment, guys, what I’m being told is that Manchester City are interested in Enzo Maresca for the future.
“As I always told you, it’s not something imminent. It’s not something guaranteed. It’s something for the future if Enzo Maresca will be available as coach when Pep Guardiola decides to leave. But Pep hasn’t decided anything at this stage. So Man City are interested.
“From Manchester United the message is a different type of coach for the summer, not a manager for now. This is why Italy’s links with Maresca immediately taking the Manchester United job is something which, I have been told, is not at all concrete at this stage.
“Man United will take their time to start the process and try to understand who the best possible manager is for the 2026-2027 season.”
Maresca didn’t convince everyone during his time at Chelsea, but he allowed the team to play good football and win major trophies in the form of the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup.
However, he is inexperienced compared to Guardiola, so it would be a tough job for him after the Spaniard’s immense success with the Sky Blues.
United, meanwhile, appear to have no such interest in Maresca, judging by Romano’s comments, and they could arguably aim a little higher.
