Arsenal have discussed a possible transfer for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The England international is also a target for Manchester City, but it appears he is taking his time to make a decision on his future.
Speaking on his YouTube channelRomano explained the latest on Guehi’s situation, clarifying that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the 25-year-old.
However, it seems that Arsenal’s efforts to sign Guehi are eyeing to sign him this summer rather than now, while City will surely try to bring him in as soon as possible to replace injured defensive duo Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.

Giving an update on the Guehi saga, Romano said: “City are really confident that they can reach an agreement with Palace, but it’s the player who has to decide and Marc Guehi is taking his time with his family, with his agents, considering all the opportunities because Arsenal have talked about a potential deal this summer.
“Arteta is a big fan of the player. That’s why Arsenal are interested. Mikel Arteta really believes he is a top player, but Arsenal also have many players in that position. And so that’s a point.
“Then there is the general interest of Liverpool. They reached a deal last summer… Liverpool absolutely remain interested in Marc Guehi and so it’s going to be one to watch, that’s for sure.
Arsenal already have so many top defenders that it is difficult to see how Guehi would fit into Arteta’s team.
City or Liverpool would surely be able to make Guehi more of a key player, while Arsenal already have a first-choice centre-back duo in William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, as well as very good depth in Piero Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori and Cristhian Mosquera.
AFC legend Sol Campbell, however, backed the move, telling Sky Bet: “Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace is a top player. I know Liverpool are sniffing around him. This is someone I would like to find out about.
