Major Iranian cities were gripped by new mass rallies denouncing the Islamic republic, as activists expressed fears on Saturday that authorities would intensify their crackdown on protests under the cover of an internet outage. “The determination in the streets of Iran and across the country is unprecedented… it’s basically people fighting for their lives, feeling like they have nothing to lose,” said Azadeh Pourzand, a senior fellow at the Center for the Middle East and World Order, highlighting the extreme fragility of the Iranian regime.
