This is the Trump administration’s “Kent State moment” (ex-commissioner)

The former U.S. Customs and Border Protection commissioner said he was troubled by the lack of accountability from federal officials and that the Trump administration already declared Good’s shooting to be justified before an investigation could take place.

“There are no checks and balances,” Gil Kerlikowske said.

But he added that he believed the public was already drawing its own conclusions based on the numerous eyewitness videos circulating on the Internet.

“To really come out to me, it’s time for this administration at Kent State — this iconic photo after National Guard shooting [college students] in Ohio reverberated across the country.

Kerlikowske was referring to the fatal shooting of 1970 of four unarmed students at Kent State University in northeastern Ohio by the Ohio National Guard, which became one of the defining events of the anti-Vietnam War movement.
