Spurs host Villa in the FA Cup third round this afternoon. Find all the team news here…
Tottenham welcomes high-flying Aston Villa in aPremier League FA Cup third round clash on Saturday.
Spurs hope to bounce back a 3-2 95th-minute defeat at Bournemouth on Wednesday evening – a result which leaves them three games without a win.
Thomas Frank’s side are languishing in the bottom half of the table and the FA Cup could present a welcome distraction from their disappointing league performance so far this season.
However, a defeat to an in-form Villa side who have lost just once since the start of November would put additional pressure on the north Londoners’ head coach.
Read on to see how the two teams line up for this intriguing encounter.
Frank makes five changes to the side which started against the Cherries, including bringing in the experienced Ben Davies for his second start of the season.
But the line-up is solid. Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie are both named in the matchday squad, while the exciting Luca Williams-Barnett is also on the bench.
Tottenham: By proxy; Danso, Davies, Van de Ven, Porro; Palhinha, Gray, Simons, Tel, Odobert; Richarlison
Unai Emery also names a strong starting XI for this one.
Morgan Rogers, who is having a fine season, will provide Villa’s bright spark in midfield, while Emi Buendia and Donyell Malen will be the Midlanders’ main threats.
Villa Aston: Bizot; Cash, Konsa, Pau, Maatsen; Bogarde, Kamara, McGinn, Rogers; Buendia, Malén
