Arsenalthe poster boy, Bukayo Sakahas signed a new five-year contract extension at the Emirates. The fact that his head was never turned towards tracking down suitors from England and abroad is testament to the excellent work being done. Mikel Arteta did at the club.
Saka, 23, is one of the Three Lions’ main stars and one of the most dangerous players in the Premier Leagueand his Hale End connection has made him the definitive star of this brilliant Gunners revival.
Arteta and technical director Andrea Berta, however, plan to add even more English talent to their ranks, with their sights set on one or two Premier League stars in 2026.
Last year, Liverpool and Manchester City took the lead in the race for Crystal Palace’s central defender. Marc Guehibut The Athletic’s David Ornstein recently confirmed Arsenal are considering promoting their long-standing interest.
Although the struggles of Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Martinelli speak to the need for reinforcements in the attacking third, Arteta is grounded in his defensive principles and he is looking to add quality and depth at the back, especially after a series of injuries this season.
But Guehi isn’t the only Three Lions defender on the radar.
According to information relayed by TEAMtalkArsenal express interest in signing Tino Book of Newcastle United, even potentially considering a move at the end of the season, with the full-back seen as a top target for the Gunners.
While it would be great to have the 23-year-old under Arteta’s wing for the second half of the campaign, that is unlikely to happen with Eddie Howe desperate to strengthen his squad from top to bottom.
Manchester City are also keen on the former Chelsea academy graduate, who would cost suitors at least £60 million to move away from St. James’ Park.
Livramento has been on Arsenal’s radar for a while. Bipoded, endowed with formidable athletic qualities and as sure in defense as tenacious in attack, it is “one of the best defenders in Europe“, according to journalist Andy Sixsmith.
Through Jurrien Boiswe’ve already seen a willingness from Arteta to play wide defenders on both flanks, and Livramento would fit in perfectly, having curiously played as a right-back nine times this year and eight times on the left.
Livramento’s athleticism and security on the ball could see him become a star at Arsenal, and the certainty with which he carries himself could even see him become an even better signing than Guehi.
Livramento simply has a knack for improving the overall tactical flow of his outfit. He’s as dynamic as they come. Guehi is also an excellent defender, but Arsenal signed Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia last summer, and the young Spaniard impressed before picking up an injury.
The data-driven platform FBref actually recorded, through statistical comparisons, Gabriel as being one of the most comparable players to Guehi in Europe. So while the desire to sign him is understandable, it’s also difficult to imagine him replacing the impressive Brazilian.
And William Salibaalthough destined to join Real Madrid at some point, won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

The former Southampton prospect covers a lot of ground, having averaged 5.2 ball recoveries in the Premier League this season, and would have the opportunity to land a starting place for the best years of his career.
For Guehi, it could be a little less certain. After all, Arsenal have arguably the best central defensive partnership in the world.
Definitely a Premier League ‘superstar’, says Kendall Rowan, content creator in NewcastleLivramento will only improve over the coming years, and while Guehi would be a fantastic addition, the Magpies’ ability to perform at an elite level on both defensive flanks highlights his potential to become a mainstay for a Premier League title-chasing club like Arsenal.
