Liverpool have reportedly received a major transfer boost as one of their long-term targets, Micky van de Ven, is set to join them.
The Tottenham defender, who can play central defender or left back, was first seen up close by Liverpool during his time at his former club Wolfsburg.
New reports now claim Van de Ven reflects on his future at Spurs and would be keen on the move to Anfield.
Van de Ven has shone during his time in the Premier League, and it seems clear that he is capable of playing at a higher level than Tottenham’s unconvincing side.

Van de Ven is tall, quick and intelligent, making him the ideal modern-day centre-back, while his attacking qualities mean he could also be a good option at left-back.
Still, Liverpool really need the Dutchman as a long-term successor to compatriot Virgil van Dijk, who appears to be past his best.
The 24-year-old has also been linked with clubs like Real Madrid in recent times, so if Liverpool don’t make a move for him soon, he could end up at another big European club.
Spurs will surely do everything they can to avoid losing From Fri to Liverpool or another rival club in the English elite.
We’ve seen Tottenham sell star names in the past, but they’ve often done well to ensure players like Harry Kane, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric go abroad rather than to another Premier League team.
Van de Ven could have similar potential if he gets a big move, so LFC would do very well to sign him, even if it perhaps seems a little unrealistic.
