By now, DC Comics characters have spent weeks punching each other in the face because of the DC KO event. Many heroes and villains have been eliminated and the game is nearing the final stage of its story, but not without some last-minute fighters coming into play.
Earlier this week, the publisher announced a a called shot Boss battle this brings in guest fighters from other universes. This new range includes Vampirella, Red Sonja, The boys Homelander, and The conspiracy headliner Annabelle. (No, really.) The book’s preview images, written by Jeremy Adams and drawn by artists including Hi-Fi and Carmine Di Giandomenico, highlight showdowns like Superman versus Homelander (obviously), Wonder Woman crossing swords with Sonja, and Black Lightning and Plastic Man fighting the Mortal Kombat 1 versions of Shang Tsung and Sub-Zero.
The narrative justification for this is that the remaining fighters need more Omega energy to continue the tournament and so one of them can go fight Darkseid, so they decide to use these characters from other universes as a way to fight. It’s a stupid reason to put Lex Luthor in the position of being attacked by the bear woman Samantha Strong or for Batwoman to be seduced by Vampirella but hey, it looks like DC KO It’s just that kind of event.
For those who like this kind of “who would win?” » thing, the one-shot will help fuel your agenda for or against a particular character you don’t like, like, say, Homelander or the Fighter characters. Read the flying fists and see who comes out on top when DC KO: boss battle hits shelves February 4.
