Resident Evil Requiem was a great highlight of the assault on the announcements and trailers of Summer Game Fest. The ninth episode of the main line of the horror franchise brings the players back to the city of devastated and emblematic Raco, this time playing as the FBI agent Grace Ashcroft. He went out on February 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
I could see a theatrical presentation of the hands of the game during the days of the summer holidays. What I saw definitively felt in accordance with the management that the series took with Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.
Honestly, the vibrations were more aligned on Re7, at least in this demo. The emphasis was put on terrorism, the graceing grace around a decrepit medical establishment, looking for a means of escaping from a first person perspective.
Now let me jump at the end of Capcom’s demo right now. Because they have shown us that players can select between a first third -person camera. So, if you prefer this more immersive atmosphere of Re7 or Village, you can go to the first person. But if you are more from the classic third -person perspective, this is an option.
However, the menu notes that the game recommends the first -person camera. Again, it makes sense, because Requiem is still still in this MOL RE7.
We have also seen other classic resident Evil elements. During a large part of the demo, Grace was continued by an eating corpse monster, which looked like a kind of giant and distorted medical patient. If you know Mr. X of Resident Evil 2 or Lady Dimitrescu of Resident Evil Village, you have the idea here.
What we have not seen much was the action. Capcom noted that even if thanks to a firearm formation, she is not an expert in combat. This does not mean that the game will not have an action, but I do not expect as much shooting that we have obtained in the remake of Resident Evil 4. I do not know if it will even have a combat objective as Resident Evil Village.
But it’s a bit of a question mark for the moment. The same goes for the scope of the game. The demo took place in a relatively small area, but I expect Requiem to cover much more ground. I do not know if Capcom takes Resident Evil Full Open World, but it is likely that we are exploring more Racoon City than this installation.
I am delighted to learn more about Requiem in the coming months before its release next year. Capcom has done an excellent job with Resident Evil since the RE7 RE7 2017 restart. I do not expect at the end of time (and terrifying) to end by soon.
