A popular WWE superstar has threatened to remove Michael Cole from commentary with immediate effect. The threat followed a remark he made during a match call last week.
On the January 5 edition of Monday Night RAW, Becky Lynch challenged Maxxine Dupri for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The two women traded blows in an engaging contest that ended with The Man reversing a falling ankle lock while holding the bottom rope. However, the referee failed to spot him and the 38-year-old was declared the winner.
Thanks for the submission!
Michael Cole spotted what Becky Lynch had done and said on air: “Becky just stole the championship.” The 57-year-old’s comments did not sit well with the new champion. In a X (instead of Twitter) update after the show, she claimed that her lawyer, The Bulldog, had sent a warning to Coleand the veteran commentator had until Monday to apologize.
Becky Lynch recently posted another tweet to provide an update on the subject. She noted that The Voice of WWE has yet to issue an apology. The Irish star further threatened Cole, saying if he didn’t apologize his lawyers would remove him from the comments immediately.
“Michael COLESLAW (because coleslaw is bad and no one likes it) still hasn’t apologized for spreading false information that I stole the INTERGALACTIC (new name) championship on Monday! He better apologize soon, or my lawyers will have him removed from the comments IMMEDIATELY!!!” Lynch wrote.

WWE has revamped the commentary duos with the start of the new year. After calling action on SmackDown for a time in 2025, Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore were moved to RAW to suit Tessitore’s college football program.
However, the January 5 edition of Monday Night RAW marked the return of Michael Cole and Corey Graves to the red brand. The following Friday, Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore were the commentators on SmackDown, officially confirming the trade.
The veteran commentator got into trouble with Becky Lynch on his first show. It will be interesting to see how he handles The Man in the future.
