We’re wrapping up coverage of the world’s largest technology show. CES 2026 is almost over, and while we have more stories and recaps coming, here are the most interesting products we’ve spotted, written about, and reviewed/praised. This includes our picks for the best of CES. We gave away 15 awards as well as our best in show, and you might be surprised by some of our choices – I know I was.
Read on to check out some of the best things to come out of Las Vegas this week, but first up, our Best of the Best winner, which was Lego Smart Play. As Engadget editor-in-chief Aaron Souppouris said, “Lego could almost be considered the antithesis of the typical CES product.”
Regardless of the trends, Lego has always persisted. And in 2026, it gets a lot smarter.

The system consists of a Smart brick, labels and figurines. They feature modern technology, allowing them to adapt to how you play with them or what sets you build. The Smart Brick has a 4.1mm ASIC chip, which Lego says is smaller than a standard Lego stud. It detects things like movement, orientation and magnetic fields, but also has a small built-in speaker, which produces sound “related to live playback actions”, not just preset clips.
It is difficult to explain it in just a few words (we have extensive practical experience) ), but what immediately attracted me was the lack of pairing with smartphones and screens. The ability of each element to sense and interact with the others can lead to ridiculous setups, whether it’s ducks and policemen, a helicopter or an X-Wing.
Naturally, it’s a little more expensive than basic Lego, but it’s not out of the realm of a special gift or birthday present. One of the first sets, with a Darth Vader smart figure, a Smart Brick and a Smart Tag, costs $70.

NVIDIA has started production of its Vera Rubin supercomputer.

On Monday, which seems like a long time ago, Jensen Huang shared the latest from NVIDIA. Although the presentation was more of a reminder than a barrage of new announcements, it was a rather low-key presentation, with a lot of talk about AI. One of the announcements is for Alpamayo, a family of open-source reasoning models designed to guide autonomous vehicles in difficult driving situations. The centerpiece is Alpamayo 1, a 10 billion-parameter thought chain system NVIDIA says is capable of driving more like a human.
When it comes to technology, we could all to usewe had to wait for a separate event, when NVIDIA announced DLSS 4.5 and G-Sync Pulsar. For both features, you will need a 50 series GPU. You have RIGHT?
