THE FPS X Days event in Japan unveiled a new realism mode enter Division 2. The creative director of the game, Yannickwith Darya (Product Manager) and Paul (Game Designer), took the stage and gave us an overview of upcoming projects for the franchise. In 2026, The Division celebrates its 10th anniversary with updates planned for both titles.

A new realism mode is coming to The Division 2 in March

The Division game reaches the exciting 10-year milestone of Strategic Homeland Division, as Division 2 celebrates its 7th anniversary. To commemorate this, the franchise’s original title received a 60 FPS Update for PS5, while The Division 2 launches the next realism mode in Year 8 Season 1.

How to play realism mode in The Division 2

This mode only will be available during the Year 8 Season 1 Anniversary Segment. SHD Agents will return to the streets of New York with the following modified gameplay elements:

  • Action-oriented combat
  • Reduced kill time
  • Realistic weapon damage (based on weapon caliber)
  • Reduced user interface
  • No health regeneration
  • Bad ammunition
  • Longer skill cooldowns
  • Immersive gameplay

This new game mode will allow players to progress through the New York story segment with a new experience and a whole new twist. Your judgment will decide whether you survive or perish in the unforgiving version of New York.

Celebrating The Division Franchise Anniversary

The original Division title kicks off its 10th year celebrations with named items, exotic gear, XP multipliers and more. There is also an upcoming collaboration event that includes all Tom Clancy games. Expect characters from Splinter Cell, Siege X, and Ghost Recon. This event will feature iconic outfits from the respective franchises that players can unlock.
