Elon Musk says he will seek full custody of his one-year-old son after child’s mother, Ashley St. Clairapologized for his past anti-trans remarks and expressed support for the transgender community.
The billionaire claimed her statements implied openness to a child’s transition, although there is no evidence she suggests this.
Ashley St. Clair, a former conservative influencer, denies the claim and is also seeking sole custody of her child amid her public feud with Elon Musk.

Musk said he intends to gain full custody of his 1-year-old son following public comments from the child’s mother, St. Clair, expressing support for the transgender community.

Musk wrote that these statements prompted him to seek sole custody. However, there is no clear evidence that St. Clair ever suggested that she would allow her son to transition medically or socially.
However, what she did do recently was publicly walk back her previous statements about transgender people and apologize for what she described as past harm.

The social media influencer, who revealed last year that she had given birth to what she claimed was Musk’s 13th child, had previously built an online following as a conservative commentator known for her outspoken right-wing views.

St. Clair’s change in tone on transgender issues gained attention this weekend after she responded to criticism of X over past remarks.
In her response, she said she felt deep remorse for things she had said in the past, recognizing that they may have caused pain, including to her son’s brother.
St. Clair added that she has made efforts privately to educate herself and support members of the transgender community, whom she believes have hurt.
The influencer also explained that she had been hesitant to speak out publicly on the issue, saying her comments would likely be dismissed as insincere or presented as a reaction to a personal conflict.
“Even this response will turn into right-wing hysteria, but yes, I’m sorry. Let me know how I can help you,” St. Clair added, according to the New York Post.

Musk’s reaction came after another X user encouraged him to pursue full custody in light of St. Clair’s apology and apparent change in perspective. Musk notably has a transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who came out publicly in 2022.

The dispute is the latest development in a broader custody battle between the two. In August, St. Clair spoke openly about her ongoing custody dispute with Musk, describing the previous year as what she called an “unplanned career suicide.”
During the first episode of her podcast, “Bad Advice,” broadcast on Musk’s X platform, she reflected on the personal and professional fallout that she says followed her relationship with the billionaire.
“Well, after a year of unplanned career suicide, many questionable life choices, and a gap in my LinkedIn profile that can’t be legally explained, I decided to start a podcast,” St. Clair said during the episode.
She added that financial pressure played a role in the decision, saying she then faced deportation.
St. Clair said a $10,000 advertising deal with Polymarket helped cover her housing costs. “So with that, the roof over my head has been brought to you by Polymarket,” she said.

St. Clair said she and Musk first connected on X and later began a relationship while working together in San Francisco, a claim she shared with the New York Post in February.
On February 14, she announced on X that she and Musk shared a son identified by the initials RSC. The child’s first name was later confirmed in April as Romulus.
Since then, the custody dispute has intensified. St. Clair is now seeking sole custody of their son. In March, Musk publicly denied St. Clair’s claims that he retaliated financially against their child.

St. Clair took issue with Musk’s claims, alleging that he refused to take a paternity test.
“Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity with a test even before the birth of our child (whom you named),” she wrote in response.
She further claimed that the money Musk mentioned was intended to support their son, not her personally, and accused him of then reducing that support to exert control.
“You weren’t sending me money, you were sending child support that you thought was necessary…until you took most of it away to maintain control and punish me for disobedience,” she wrote. “But really, you’re just punishing your son.”
