Newcastle United have been dealt a major blow with reports confirming that defender Tino Livramento faces a spell of around two months on the sidelines with a significant hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old was sent off just before the hour mark during the Magpies’ dramatic FA Cup third round win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Deliverancewho looked lively at the start, stopped uncomfortably after a sprint down the right flank and was immediately replaced by Lewis Hall.
According to a report from Daily Mailscans have since revealed the extent of the damage, with a worse prognosis than initially feared.
The injury is expected to keep the versatile full-back out of action for six to eight weeks, adding to Eddie Howe’s growing defensive headache during a pivotal period of the season.
The loss of Livramento comes at a terrible time for Newcastlewho are already navigating a congested fixture list and a growing injury crisis.
With veteran Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar is also struggling with injury problemsLivramento had become a vital part of Howe’s backline, providing energy and reliability on both the right and left sides of the defense.
According to the report, the club’s medical staff are targeting a return in early March, but they will be careful not to rush it given the nature of the hamstring recurrences.

Livramento’s absence will cause him to miss a series of high-level matches over three competitions.
He has already missed the first leg of the League Cup semi-final against Manchester City and will also miss the second leg.
In the Premier League, he is expected to miss key matches in January and February, potentially including clashes against tough opposition as Newcastle fight for European qualification.
He will also be unavailable for the fourth round of the FA Cup scheduled for the end of January.
If his recovery goes as planned, fans can hope to see him back in the squad for the race starting in March, potentially for the final push of the campaign.
Until then, Lewis Hall and potentially a new reinforcement in January will have to step in to fill the void left by the dynamic defender.
