As tensions within the royal family continue, experts remain skeptical about the likelihood of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reconciling with their ailing fathers.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said Fox News Digital that “Meghan and her father will never reconcile,” adding that a letter reportedly sent by Meghan, although unconfirmed, signals her reluctance.
It highlighted long-standing family turmoil, including allegations that Meghan’s half-sister orchestrated paparazzi photos ahead of the royal wedding, sparking a fallout with Thomas Markle.
“Her relationship with her father – a tragedy for both of them – is simply a disaster,” Fitzwilliams described.

His comments followed a report by The Times of Londonwhich suggests the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have little chance of repairing what the outlet describes as “deeply damaged” relationships with their fathers.
Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father and a former Hollywood lighting director, recently had his left leg amputated and reportedly said he did not want to die separated from his daughter.
Around the same time, King Charles III announced that early detection of his cancer would allow doctors to reduce his treatment over the coming year.

Weighing in on the Sussexes’ rift with their fathers, said royal expert Hilary Fordwich Fox News Digital that the emotional damage on both sides remains too deep, especially during the holiday season, for true reconciliation to take place.
She said she did not expect real peace between the Sussexes and their fathers, given the extent of the divisions involved.
Fordwich added that Harry’s meeting with the king seemed motivated more by constitutional duty and basic paternal decency than by a genuine desire to rebuild their bond.
“Even within the royal households, there are divergent views among courtiers, but there is unanimity that the Sussexes cause stress for everyone,” she said. “As a result, family relationships will remain fragile at best.”

From the monarchy’s perspective, Fordwich stressed, “preserving the future of the monarchy and stability” is a priority, and trust remains a major obstacle.
Kinsey Schofield, host of “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered” on YouTube, echoed similar doubts, saying she doesn’t believe Meghan has a “genuine interest in repairing her relationship with her father.”
Schofield also questioned Harry’s commitment to reconciling with the royal family, citing his recent public appearances as proof.

Despite Thomas’ health crisis, communication efforts with Meghan have reportedly been strained.
The As Ever founder reportedly tried to contact her father, but her calls and emails went unanswered.
She also hasn’t shared any photos of her children, whom Thomas has never met. According to reports, he first revealed his condition to the press rather than to his children, a decision that further complicated any chance of reconciliation.
Meghan has been separated from her father since her marriage to Harry in 2018. According to People magazine, she attempted to reach Thomas during his recent health emergency, but her calls and emails were unsuccessful.
Additional reports from Daily Mail claimed that Meghan did not have her father’s phone number and that he did not use email. People Magazine further reported that Meghan contacted several hospitals to try to locate him.

Meanwhile, Harry remains estranged from his own family. He will not spend Christmas with the royal household and reports say he has not spoken to Charles since their brief meeting in September.
He would also be out of contact with Prince William and Kate Middleton. A London-based source has dismissed suggestions that Harry and his father are currently communicating, calling such claims “laughable”.
In response to the reports, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex called the media coverage “entirely speculative,” adding that the couple would not make any public comments about their private family relationships.

Harry’s estrangement from the royal family dates back to 2020, when he and Meghan stepped down as senior royals and moved to California.
In the years since, the couple has spoken openly about their grievances in television interviews, documentaries and in Harry’s 2023 memoir, “Spare.”
These moves by the Duke and his wife revealed deeply personal details of royal life and even more strained family ties.
