Travis Kelce calls Taylor Swift the ‘love of my life’ in docuseries Eras

Travis Kelce does not appear in the last two episodes of Taylor SwiftIt is Tour of the eras docuseries, but he still found a way to sneak in some praise for his partner.

In the last part of Taylor Swift: the end of an eraSwift, 36, reads a card from her then-boyfriend, also 36, that was attached to flowers he sent her ahead of her final Eras shows in December 2024.

“So many incredible memories on this tour, but my favorite is seeing you in concert for the first time, being mesmerized and swept away by a woman who doesn’t even know me,” Swift reads from the note. “I selfishly say thank you for creating this legendary tour and [tour manager] Robert [Allen] for bringing you through Kansas City, Missouri. That second night in KC was the beginning of meeting the love of my life.

Swift then paused for a few seconds before joking, “So much for no emotion on the last three shows, huh?”

Kelce went to Swift’s Kansas City concert in July 2023 and later complained on his “New Heights” podcast about not meeting the Grammy winner.

“Well, I was disappointed that she didn’t speak before or after her shows because she has to keep her voice up for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis recalled at the time speaking to his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce. “So I was a little hurt that I wasn’t able to give her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

Travis went on to reveal that he put her number on the bracelet. When Jason, 38, asked if he was talking about his jersey number, 87, or his phone number, Travis replied: “You know what [number].”

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs tight end didn’t get to meet Swift that night, they started dating soon after — which the world found out when she attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023. She later clarified that they had already been seeing each other for a while at that point, having met right after his comments on the podcast.

“We started dating right after,” she said. TIME magazine in December 2023. “So we actually spent a lot of time that no one knew about, which I’m grateful for, because we got to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think they saw our first date at that game? We’d never be psychotic enough to throw it hard on a first date.”

In a previous episode of The end of an eraTaylor’s mother, Andrea Swiftrevealed that she played a role in convincing her daughter to meet Travis.

“I’m looking at the headlines and browsing what’s happening on the Internet, and I see this guy came to your show and he brought a friendship bracelet and wants to meet you,” Andrea, 67, recalls. “And of course, I’m calling my resident expert on the Kansas City Chiefs, my cousin robinand I say, ‘Tell me about this guy named Travis Kelce.’ And she says, “Oh, my God, he’s the nicest guy.” And you know what? He really loves his mother. And I said, “Ding, ding, ding, ding.” Then I said, “Now how am I going to get her to meet him or anything?” »

According to Taylor, her mother alerted her to the podcast. “You call me with this tone of like, ‘Hey, so I know you’re not going to react well to this, but there’s a guy,'” the pop star recalled. “You said something like, ‘You need to start doing something different.'”

Taylor apparently took her mother’s advice, because she and Travis have been dating ever since. The duo announced their engagement in August, sharing a joint Instagram post captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” »
