How to Stay on Track When Traveling


Staying on track with your fitness and wellness goals can seem like additional difficult when your routine is disrupted. Whether you’re flying, going away for the weekend, or simply facing a busy week that doesn’t leave much room for your usual routines, consistency becomes more difficult. But the good news is that you don’t need perfection. You just need a plan that fits your lifestyle.

Here’s how to achieve it, even when you’re outside of your usual routine:

1. Set mini-goals

Don’t try to achieve every goal perfectly. Instead, focus on 1-2 things that will make you feel better. Maybe it’s exercising 20 minutes every day, drinking a certain amount of water, or meeting your protein goal. Choose what matters most and commit to that before jumping in all at once.

2. Move your body

3. Increase hydration

What if you stole? Drink even more. Planes can be very dehydrating!

4. Improve, don’t limit

Trying to be “perfect” while traveling usually results in stress, not success. Instead of removing items, look for easy upgrades. Add vegetables where you can. Choose lean protein when it’s an option. Enjoy Fun Foods without guilt but also fuel you in a way that supports your energy and mood.

It’s not all or nothing.

5. Stick to your morning routine

Even a consistent part of your day can help keep you grounded. Maybe it’s a morning walk, journaling with your coffee, or a quick stretch before the day begins. Having something that starts your day with intention helps everything else fall into place even when you’re not on the schedule.
