Several dead in an explosion at a mosque in northeastern Nigeria

At least seven people were killed Wednesday when an explosion ripped through a crowded mosque in Nigeria’s northeastern city of Maiduguri during evening prayers, witnesses and security sources said. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the alleged attack in a city that has endured years of insurgency but has been largely calm in recent years.
