Travis Kelce made three of his five catches on the Kansas City Chiefs’ final drive against the Denver Broncos, but the team couldn’t do enough to win the game.
Kelce, in what could have been his last game at Arrowhead Stadium before potentially quitting, had five catches for 36 yards. Denver won the game 20-13.
The tight end tossed his gloves to the crowd as he returned to the locker room.

Kansas City’s offense It was pretty putrid all night but the match came down to the wire.
The Chiefs received their first penalty of the evening at the worst time. The Broncos were lined up to punt on 4th and 2 from the Kansas City 9-yard line. As Bo Nix called the signals, Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones committed an offside penalty. This gave the Broncos another set of losses and the chance to thrust the dagger into the hearts of Chiefs fans.
Nix found RJ Harvey for the go-ahead score with 1:45 left. It turned out to be victory.
The second year Broncos Quarterback finished 26 of 38 with 182 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Harvey. The lone interception led to a touchdown for the Chiefs.
Chiefs quarterback Chris Oladokun totaled 66 passing yards on three completions. He threw a touchdown pass to Brashard Smith.

Kansas City had only 139 total offensive yards. By the end of the match, much of the focus was on Kelce.
Taylor Swift showed up to the game to support Kelce. She was seen briefly on the Amazon Prime Video show.
Retirement rumors have swirled around Kelce since last year. But it accelerated over the course of the year because his production just wasn’t the same as in previous years. He spoke to former NFL star Tony Gonzalez about his impending decision.

“I think I’m still looking for those answers. I think, obviously, the way this one ended with a bitter taste in my mouth, I feel motivated, but I have to make the right decision for me,” he told Gonzalez. “I have to hope that, you know, if I want to come back, the Chiefs will be willing to bring me back.
“So it’s a two-way street about it, but, at the same time, man, I am, at this point this year, I’m just trying to finish and give Chiefs Kingdom everything I’ve got and go out there and do it with a little bit of that flair that you said I play with.”

Kansas City was already eliminated from the playoffs and injuries hampered any chance of the team playing spoiler.
