Alica Schmidt shares insight into her ice bath challenge while enjoying Christmas vacation with family

Alica Schmidt shared a glimpse of herself trying the ice bath challenge during her family Christmas vacation in Bressanone, South Tyrol, Italy. The German athlete is currently preparing for the upcoming track season.

Most recently, she shared snaps from her Christmas celebration on her Instagram Story. She posted a video of herself taking on the ice bath challenge in her hotel’s freezing pool with her family. The caption to the story read:

“Family ice bath challenge🥶 @santre.dolomythic.home”

Additionally, she uploaded a snap of her Christmas outfit to her story. She shared a mirror selfie, where she flaunted a white cropped shirt paired with a black blazer. Here is the shot:

Besides this, she also shared snippets of the delicious food she ate and wrote:

“The food the last few days was 10/10. I don’t know what it was but it was so good!”

Previously, Schmidt had uploaded photos from the same trip. Photos included views of the hotel, Santre Dolomythic Home, its pool and amenities.

Schmidt finished his 2025 season after competing at the German Championships. After placing in the top three in the 800m heats at the championships, she still failed to secure a place at the World Athletics Championships, marking the end of her season.

When Alica Schmidt made her feelings known about being recognized by the public

Alice Schmidt participated in a conversation with the OMR podcast in February 2024, where she talked about being recognized by the public. She revealed that she recognized that she became famous after fans started approaching her.

Expressing her joy at meeting someone from the community in real life, she said: (starting at 46:36)

“I’m definitely recognized and it’s noticeable when someone secretly whispers to you or, as I said, someone comes up to me. I always find it nicer when people approach me. I’m really happy when you meet someone from the community and see who is really behind it. For example, at the World Championships, who I’ve been in contact with for many years. She writes to me regularly, so it was really really cool to see the person behind it all,” said Alica Schmidt.

After wrapping up the 2025 season, Alica Schmidt shared a major life update on social media. She revealed that she bought a new house and also shared some photos, showing the start of her new chapter.
