Gauri Gupta, a San Francisco-based tech entrepreneur, recently shared an anecdote in which the popular 10-minute delivery app, Blinkit, saved her day. Gupta said in a social media post that the incident happened while she was waiting in line for her O-1 visa interview at the US embassy in Delhi.
“I was in the queue for my O-1 visa interview at the US Embassy in Delhi when I realized that I might be missing a few documents that Google says are quite important for O-1 approval. The queue was already incredibly long, even for an 8 a.m. slot, and I didn’t have time to run to the market. I started to panic a little,” she wrote in an article on X.
She further said that the embassy guard casually told her to get printouts through Blinkit.
“So, while I was standing in line, I uploaded my documents to the app. They were printed and delivered to me within 15 minutes, while I was still in the queue. Saved my moment of panic lol. Visa approval and stamping. Literally saved my day and truly served the best purpose of a last minute delivery app. At such times, services in India are a true privilege!
Netizens were quick to share their views, with some saying that fast commerce apps are indeed one of the best innovations in India.
“I wish we could have something this fast and cheap in the US,” one user commented.
“Fast commerce is literally one of the best innovations we have adapted in India. Technology like this actually saves lives,” said a second user. A third user wrote: “Wow, India is living in the future of delivery apps.”
“Truth be told, while many people argue over the concept of 10-15 minute deliveries, the convenience is unmatched. I haven’t experienced it anywhere else in the world. Also, was O1 a humble brag? If it was, you deserve it, because it’s no small feat (sic),” a fourth user added.
