Vaibhav Suryavanshi gets PMRBP from President

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been awarded the highest civilian youth honor in India Friday. The 14-year-old traveled to Delhi for the ceremony, missing the ongoing clash between Bihar and Manipur.

Vaibhav receives national honor

Friday morning, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) in Delhi. He received the honor from President Droupadi Murmu. This milestone adds to Suryavanshi’s already growing reputation as one of the most promising future cricketers.

After the ceremony, all the winners will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The interaction aims to inspire the next generation of Indian leaders and achievers.

This award is a proud moment for Vaibhav. However, he will miss the rest of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Yet being honored on a national level for one’s accomplishments is a rare and special recognition.

What is PMRBP and why is it assigned?

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is the country’s highest civilian honor awarded to children (aged 5 to 18 years). It is awarded annually for outstanding achievements in the fields of art and culture, bravery, environment, innovation, science and technology, social service and sports.

Journey to global recognition

The youngster earned this honor after a series of exceptional performances. He impressed in Bihar’s opening match against Arunachal Pradesh, where he played a remarkable knock of 190 runs off just 84 balls. This knock showed his reputation as one of the most dangerous batters in domestic cricket.
