Their engagement follows the couple becoming an official couple in May 2020, as Towns shared in Woods’ Instagram series “Regular-Ish.” He explained that they first met through mutual friends and since that time their relationship has grown organically. He also noted that the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to decide where their relationship was going “as friends or something more,” adding that they “chose the latter.”

Woods’ longtime best friend Kylie Jenner also jumped into the conversation, simply writing “jordyyyyyy,” followed by a bunch of teary-eyed emojis. Blessings from model Bella Hadid followed Kylie’s comment. “OMG!!! Congratulations, my sweet girl,” the 29-year-old shared.

In a previous interview with PEOPLEWoods reflected on his relationship with Towns and shared the two things that have helped them progress over the years. “Friendship and trust,” she said, explaining that the two were “very good friends” before taking things to the next level. “We’ve been through a lot together,” she added. “We’ve seen each other in different ways, at different times and in different phases, so I think we have a very solid foundation.”

Towns later expressed his appreciation for Woods, noting that the influencer has become a “basketball savant” over the years. “We watch game film together, we watch a lot of basketball together and we dissect the game,” he said, calling it “really special to me.”
