Travelers could face significant delays as airports could be overwhelmed by millions travelers during the holiday weekend.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued at least eight separate restrictions on air flows on Friday, the Daily Mail reported.
The series of Airspace Flow (AFP) programs could affect major airports in the United States and Canada during one of the busiest travel days of the year. Some delays could reach more than six hours, the media outlet said.

In an effort to avoid overcrowding amid hundreds of flights heading in similar directions, the FAA is significantly reducing the number of planes allowed to take off and enter certain busy sections of airspace, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), more than 122 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home during the 13-day holiday season beginning Dec. 20 and ending Jan. 1.
“People are eager to travel this holiday season,” said Debbie Haas, vice president of travel for AAA. “This is leading to record numbers of people on the roads and in the air.”

Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Miami were the top three domestic destinations for vacationers this year, according to the group.
Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic were the top international getaways this week.
Meanwhile, winter conditions delayed many flights on Friday.
As of 3:40 p.m. ET, more than 5,500 U.S. flights had been delayed and more than 1,400 canceled, according to the flight tracking site. Aware of theft.
