Reduced budget home buyers are are increasingly looking to markets where their dollars can stretch further.
Several attractive metro areas still offer median home prices below $300,000, well below the national median of $425,000. These areas offer more affordable paths to homeownership without sacrificing the lifestyle or amenities of big cities, according to at Realtor.com.
“In these markets, housing prices are more closely aligned with local incomes, allowing the typical household to afford a typical home for sale,” said Hannah Jones, senior economic research analyst at Realtor.com. “The existence of these affordable areas, however limited, offers encouraging news for buyers determined to purchase in one of the these regions“.
Here are the 10 most sought-after metropolises where buyers can still find prices under $300,000:

Muncie, located about an hour away from Indianapolisis home to Ball State University and outdoor attractions including the 750-acre Prairie Creek Reservoir.
