“The greatest Christmas gift we could ask for: a baby girl arriving in May 2026,” Leavitt revealed via Instagram on Friday, December 26. “My husband and I are excited to expand our family and can’t wait to see our son become a big brother. My heart overflows with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to heaven on Earth.”
Trump administration spokesperson shared first glimpse of her belly and first ultrasound photo of the pregnancy in a festive Instagram post.
Leavitt stressed that she was “extremely grateful” to her boss, the president. Donald Trumpand White House chief of staff Susie Wiles for “fostering a pro-family environment at the White House.”
She added: “2026 is going to be a great year and I’m so excited to be a girl mom! »
Leavitt confirmed her engagement to real estate developer Riccio in December 2023. They welcomed a son, Nicholas “Niko” Robert Riccio, in July 2024, with Leavitt returning to work on Trump’s 2024 re-election campaign days after giving birth.

“My heart has become bigger than I ever imagined possible,” she wrote. via Instagram in July 2024. “Babies are the ultimate blessing and I am overflowing with gratitude for our beautiful, happy, healthy boy. »
The Trump administration spokesperson — who previously ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire and lost to Chris Pappas in 2022 – has occasionally addressed her 32-year age gap with her husband. She admitted The Megyn Kelly Show in May that she and Riccio had a “very atypical love story.”

“[Riccio] is amazing,” she beamed The Megyn Kelly Show. “He’s the father of my child and he’s the best father I could hope for. And he’s so supportive, especially during a very chaotic time in life…I say, ‘I came into your life and it’s been a circus ever since,’ but God bless him because he’s fully on board.”
Most recently, the White House press secretary admitted on “Pod Force One with Miranda Devine” in November that her family had difficulty accepting her “unusual” age-gap romance because her mother is actually younger than Riccio.
“It’s definitely a difficult conversation to have at first,” she said. “But then, of course, once they got to know him and saw who he is as a man and his character and how much he adores me, I think it became pretty easy for them.”
Leavitt continued, “Now we’re all friends. I mean, it’s a typical family relationship. My husband has such respect for my parents and the way they raised me, and we all have a lot of fun together when they come to visit.”
She suggested on “Pod Force One with Miranda Devine” that her marriage works so well because Riccio is “very introverted” and is not at all interested in the spotlight.
“He stays behind the scenes. He’s not on social media. He’s very private and he’s an incredibly involved father,” she mentioned. “He and my son are just the best of friends. He’s just an incredible guy and he’s my number one fan. He watches every interview, every press briefing.”
