Zack Snyder Reveals Henry Cavill in Reeves Superman Suit

While everyone was enjoying Christmas with family and eating, Zack Snyder decided to play Santa Claus and show his former Superman wearing the classic Christopher Reeve costume.

“Henry Cavill. This photo. It was undeniable”, Snyder wrote Thursday. The photo is exactly what it promises, showing the Man of Steel actor at midday, standing in the middle of a field with the clouds behind him and the sun peeking into the distance. He also shared a second photo, closerrevealing that he used both to sell to Warner Bros. casting Cavill for the role. “Everyone agreed: Henry Cavill was Superman. That’s where the journey began.”

Snyder has recalled the experience of seeing Cavill in this classic costume before: in 2016, he said DuJour that everyone said “Dang, you’re Superman!” the day Cavill came out of the trailer with the costume. And in a 2011 interview with Weekly EntertainmentThe director said Cavill was the only actor who wore it to auditions and didn’t look ridiculous wearing it, pointing to his “crazy calm confidence” that made Snyder choose him.

It’s been an interesting year for a behind-the-scenes look at the Superman cast.
