Six influencers recently announced they were leaving esports group FaZe Clan following failed contract negotiations with new management.
Bloomberg Reports that influencers known as Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, Rage and Silky — the whole list on the FaZe Clan website — all announced they were leaving the group.
Adapt written the that he had spent 14 years in the FaZe Clan: “More than half of my life, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt, but it had to be done. »
Another FaZe Clan member who left in August described the situation as one where influencers felt like they had “no control, and it’s like we’re puppets.”
The influencers reportedly negotiated with Faze Clan investor HardScope and its CEO Matt Kalish over the past six months. Kalish plans to continue the group without the missing influencers.
“I guess they’re all good kids and they have a lot of people in their ears and they’re confused,” he told Bloomberg. He also said the group’s current financial structure was “unsustainable”.
FaZe Clan went public in 2022, but the company was purchased by GameSquare for $17 million the following year, and its CEO was fired.
